David was born on October 29, 1962, in London Ontario. His family came to BC in 1964. David settled in Campbell River in 1970 with his family, wife Sandra and his son Kyle.

David loved to make people laugh and put a smile on the face of everyone he met. Many people in the community considered him a friend. Dave was always happy, considerate and respectful, He always lit up the room when he arrives.

David's passing left an unbearable sorrow within his family and throughout the community.

David's legacy will continue and the Dave Rennie Memorial Golf Tournament will be a place where the community can gather to honour, cherish and share beloved memories of a great man.

David Rennies' family includes dad Bruce, mom Donna, sister Jody, brother-in-law Brian, sister-in-law Carol (John), cousin Brenda Johnson (Al) and many nieces and nephews.

The Campbell River Hospice Society

The Campbell River Hospice Society (CRHS) has been providing compassionate care to those affected by grief, those facing end-of-life and caregivers for the past 35 years.  We continue providing our vital services because of the generous support of many caring and supportive individuals living in Campbell River and surrounding areas.  However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for support in our community has greatly increased while our fundraising activities and revenue have decreased. Now more than ever CRHS needs your support.

What is Hospice Care

Hospice Care is aimed to relieve suffering and help to improve the quality of life for those who are grieving or living with a terminal illness.  We encircle the patient and their family with compassionate emotional support to help them, and their family, experience a meaningful end-of-life with joy and dignity.  For those affected by a loss, we provide specialized services and support to help them through their journey of grief.

“Hospice Care is an integral part of our community.  Respecting and supporting those who are experiencing loss and who are dying is one of the most honorable things our society can provide to one another.   With the current epidemic of drug overdose and suicide, we need to collectively work together to reduce the impact in our community and support those survivors affected by these devastating losses.  I encourage you to support the increase of Hospice care as it is an integral part of our community”.
