OUR RESPONSE TO THE COVID - 19 CRISIS
Due to the current concerns around COVID-19, the Campbell River Hospice Society’s Board of Directors has determined that it is in the best interest to act on the latest advice and recommendation of the BC Government. It is crucial in the current and ever-changing situation that we take all reasonable steps to protect the well-being of those using our services, as well as our staff and volunteers. Therefore, all our regular services and programs held at Yucalta, Hospital, Community and within the Hospice Care Centre have been suspended temporarily. We will continue to work closely with our partners in the community to identify clients who may be at risk and continue to support them as much as possible.
Counselling support will be provided by phone for our current client. We will continue to find inventive solutions to support clients. Rest assured that all our services will be reviewed frequently with the aim of returning to full-service capacity as soon as possible.
Sadly, our Second to None Thrift Store which is responsible for 46% of our annual budget is now closed until further notice.
Also, it is with regret that the Ocean Pacific Boat Show scheduled for April 4 is canceled. However, we will be hosting an Online Auction, Sponsored by Campbell River Mirror at some point in the future. This auction will include the many wonderful items that have been donated by generous local businesses and community members.
We express our sincere gratitude for the support we have received from our community and greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation during these challenging times. We are also profoundly grateful to our Health Care staff for their dedication and efforts; thank you for all that you do!
