Legacy of Compassion Program
You can provide a gift of compassion for today, tomorrow or the future

Paying it forward through a legacy gift of compassion

You can provide a large financial gift for today, tomorrow or the future to ensure Hospice Care continues to be available to anyone in Campbell River and the surrounding area at no cost. An investment into the Campbell River Hospice Society will impact thousands of individuals per year who are grieving or facing the end of life. It is a human right to die with dignity and love and CRHS is dedicated to ensuring everyone has the ability to access our specialized services.

There are many benefits to supporting the Hospice Society which can be customized to what is meaningful for you, your family or your business.  Our legacy giving partner and Tax & Estate planning specialist; Nicole Deters of Harbourfront Wealth Management, Gilman Deters Private Wealth is available to provide guidance and advice in alignment with your philanthropic goals and values.

 Our 3 Highest Priority Needs

Hospice Suites at Evergreen

Your gift can help those that don't have the funds for private hospice care but require the specialized services Evergreen Seniors Home can provide.  The Hospice Suites at Evergreen include a full-service suite so families can stay together for the last few weeks of life. The subsidy program has qualifying conditions to ensure you are supporting a family in need.  Video

Children's Grief Program

Currently, 11.6% of our clientele are children 4 to 17 years of age. Since covid, the requests for children's grief support have increased substantially. Currently, we can offer children Art Therapy one day per week or the option to receive a Children's Grief Package to take home and work through as a family. However, this is not enough support for the children in our community. Sadly our society is experiencing a significant increase in children's suicide. Losing a family member is one of the hardest things a person can experience and increases a sibling's risk of suicide by 50%. Your gift can help us develop additional programming to help support more children in need of our critical support.

Clinical Counselling

Since the covid pandemic, our intake requests have increased an astounding 63%, and 83% of all clients are struggling with complicated grief and loss, such as deaths due to toxic drug overdose, suicides and sudden death. Although we have many highly trained volunteers to help those through the grief process, these complicated cases require a clinical counsellor's support which is an overwhelming operating expense.
