About A Walk to Remember 2026

🌿 Join Us for A Walk to Remember 🌿

Saturday, June 6 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Hospice Care Center, Serenity Garden – 440 Evergreen Road, Campbell River

The Campbell River Hospice Society invites you to join us for our annual Walk to Remember — a heartfelt community fundraising event honouring loved ones while ensuring no one in our community faces grief or end-of-life alone.

This year, our goal is to raise $20,000 to sustain our no-cost grief and end-of-life programs for children, youth, and adults.

💛 Why This Walk Matters

With only 3.5% of our funding coming from government sources, Hospice relies on community fundraising events like this to continue providing: Clinical grief counselling for children and youth experiencing traumatic loss, End-of-life psychosocial support for individuals and families, ongoing bereavement groups and one-to-one support. Compassionate presence during some of life’s most difficult moments. Your participation directly ensures these services remain available — at no cost — to those who need them most.

🌸 Event Experience

We anticipate over 100 walkers will gather pledges, walk a meaningful 3-km loop, and return to the Hospice Care Centre for a calming sound bowl session-offering a moment of reflection, grounding, and gentle healing. The experience will then continue with a memorial ceremony led by Leslie Haynes-Hodgins, M.S.W., R.S.W., Hospice’s Lead Clinical Counsellor, followed by a butterfly release. Each participant will release a Painted Lady butterfly in memory of their loved one — a powerful symbol of remembrance, transformation, and the continuation of love beyond loss
